Scottsdale
Scottsdale is a cool, upmarket city which sits within the Greater Phoenix area, in Arizona. I visited Scottsdale for 2 nights in September 2025 during my solo trip of the Wild West, USA.
Hotel Adeline
Hotel Adeline is a boutique hotel with a lively pool scene. I stayed at the Hotel Adeline in September 2025 for 2 nights. The hotel features pool parties every Saturday. I attended a pool party on the Saturday during my stay. I really enjoyed the music and the vibe at the event.

Saguaro Lake Ranch Stable
I took a 1 hour guided horse ride at sunset at the Saguaro Lake Ranch Stable. I rode a wonderful, safe Haflinger called Clark. I had not rode for over a year and was a little nervous before the trail ride. The staff at the Saguaro Lame Ranch Stable really looked after everyone, and Clark was such a good horse for a nervous rider like me. The scenery at the Saguaro Lake Ranch Stable and on the trail absolutely was fantastic. This was definitely the highlight of my trip to the Wild West!

Goldfield Ghost Town and Superstition Mountain
Goldfield is an old mining town, which has been refurbished as a tourist attraction, and is located just beneath Superstition Mountain, Arizona. I tried a prickly pear lemonade during my trip to Goldfield Ghost Town.

What I missed out on....
Unfortunately, I only managed to stay in Scottsdale, near Phoenix for 2 days. If I were to visit the area again, I would like to stay at the Boulders Resort in Scottsdale. I would also plan to venture down to Tucson, where I would like to stay at the Hacienda Del Sol Resort and the White Stallion Ranch. I would also visit the ghost town of Tombstone again, and take a trip to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum.
Boulders Resort & Spa Scottsdale
The Boulders Resort and Spa is an upscale, luxurious retreat set within Arizona's extraordinary Sonoran Desert.

Tucson
If I were to visit the area around Scottsdale/Phoenix in Arizona again in the future, I would like to venture down to Tucson. I have visited Tucson in the past as a child with my family in 1994. Tucson is the second-largest city in Arizona, Tucson is well-known for its desert landscapes, including the iconic Saguaro cactus, as well as its vibrant Mexican-American culture and delicious cuisine.

Past Holiday to Tucson
As a family, we stayed at the Westward Look Resort. We also went horse riding and visited the famous ghost town of Tombstone.

Tombstone Ghost Town

Tombstone Ghost Town
Tombstone is a town in southeastern Arizona, known for its Wild West history. Exhibits at the Tombstone Courthouse State Historic Park include a replica gallows. On historic Allen Street, the O.K. Corral outdoor theater re-enacts an 1881 cowboy gunfight. Resident ghosts are said to haunt the bullet-riddled Bird Cage Theatre. Outlaws are among the local townsfolk buried at the 1878 Boothill Cemetery.

Hacienda Del Sol
Located at the heart of the Sonoran Desert, the Hacienda Del Sol is a relaxing escape with breathtaking views of the Catalina Foothills.

White Stallion Ranch
The White Stallion Ranch is a 3,000 acre dude ranch which offers accomadation, horse riding and hiking. It is one of the largest privately-owned cattle and guest ranches in Arizona.

Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum
The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is a world-renowned zoo, natural history museum and botanical garden, all in one place. The Desert Museum is a natural home to a variety of native wildlife such as rattlesnakes, coyotes, bobcats, mountain lions, black-tailed jack rabbits and black-tailed prairie dogs.

The Wild West is the most fascinating regions of the USA for me. I'll definitely be back in the future!
