Laguna Beach

Southern California's premier coastal destination is perfectly located in Orange County, halfway between Los Angeles and San Diego. Laguna Beach is a laid-back, small city which is made up of a series of 20 stunning beaches and coves dotted along the Southern California coastline. It’s also known for its restaurants, art galleries, boutiques, opulent beachfront homes and surfing community. I took a 3 day trip to Laguna Beach in September 2025.

Laguna Cove Hotel

I stayed at the Laguna Cove Hotel for 3 nights during my visit to Laguna Beach. The Laguna Cove Hotel is a budget friendly boutique hotel, with more of a motel feel. The hotel is conveniently located near to some very scenic beaches such as Woods Cove, and a short walk to the centre of town.

Lost Pier Cafe - Aliso Beach

The Lost Pier Cafe is a wonderful little cafe located at the end of Aliso Beach. Unfortunately, I missed the sunshine on my visit to the Lost Pier Cafe.

Wild Strawberry Cafe

Wild Strawberry Cafe is a wonderful little cafe in Laguna Beach. On my visit, I had some delicious chicken enchiladas, followed by one of their ultra-cute pink cakewiches.

Driftwood Laguna

The Driftwood Laguna is one of the most well known restaurants in Laguna Beach. With some of the best views of the ocean, it's a great spot and easy to see why it is so popular. I enjoyed some classic American pancakes with berries and maple syrup, whilst overlooking the sea at Driftwood Laguna.

Dana Point Dolphin and Whale Watching Boat Trip

I took a 2 hour boat trip from Dana Point for a dolphin and whale watching cruise during my stay in Laguna Beach. We were really lucky with spotting a large pod of Common dolphins who were in travel mode. Unfortunately, we didn't see any whales, but we did spot some Grey seals near the harbour.

Wind & Sea

The Wind & Sea Restaurant at Dana Point overlooks the harbour where the tour for dolphin and whale watching departs. I had a delicious burger and fries, followed by one of my favourite drinks - a Shirley Temple at the Wind & Sea.

Pearl Street Beach

Pearl Street Beach is a photogenic little cove which was near to my hotel. I managed to get some nice photos of Pearl Street Beach and some of the beach houses in the area during my stay.

What I missed out on....

I managed to see most of what I wanted to see during my visit to Laguna Beach. If I were to take another trip to this area in the future, I would choose to stay at the Capri Laguna On The Beach.

Capri Laguna On The Beach Hotel

Situated around 450 metres from Agate Street Beach, the Capri Laguna On The Beach is known as one of the coolest hotels in Laguna Beach. The hotel is conveniently located and easy on the eye.
