Las Vegas

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas (unless you took a photo and posted it on Instagram)! I've been lucky enough to have visited Las Vegas twice when I was young, but it was only fair that I should get to experience 'Sin City' as an adult! Las Vegas has long been the self-proclaimed ‘Entertainment Capital of the World'. I embarked upon a solo trip to Las Vegas for 7 nights in May 2023.

The Strip

Known officially as Las Vegas Boulevard, the Las Vegas Strip is the most recognisable street in Las Vegas. More than just a street, 'The Strip' is the beating heart of Las Vegas and one of the most iconic tourist attractions in the USA. The Big Bus Tour offers day and night tours to

view some of the most famous hotels and attractions on 'The Strip', which include the Hard Rock Cafe, the Paris, Ceasars Palace, the Bellagio, New York New York, and the Flamingo.

Las Vegas Art District

Las Vegas Arts District, or 18b, is a vibrant cultural hub packed with indie art galleries and performance spaces in converted warehouses.

A Special Memory Wedding Chapel

Within Las Vegas, there are over 50 wedding chapels. A Special Memory Wedding Chapel is one of the most famous wedding chapels on 'The Strip'.

Delano Hotel at Mandalay Bay

Encompassing a private tower within the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Delano brings calm and sophistication to the beating heart of Las Vegas. The Delano is also home to the Skyfall Lounge - the rooftop bar with the best view of the Las Vegas Strip. I stayed at the Delano for 4 nights.

Daylight Beach Club

The Daylight Beach Club, located at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas is the place to party. The Daylight Beach Club is inspired by beach clubs in Ibiza.

Mandalay Bay Beach

The Mandalay Bay Beach is home to the best swimming pool complex in Las Vegas. The hotel boasts 11 acres which includes a lazy river, a wave pool, together with multiple swimming pools.

Skyfall Lounge at Delano

Skyfall Lounge is a sophisticated and elegant rooftop bar and cocktail lounge, located on the 64th floor of the fabulous Delano. The Skyfall Lounge has one of the best views of the 'Strip'.

Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay

Located on the 63rd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel, the Foundation Room is a vibrant and unique rooftop lounge, nightclub and restaurant with views to rival the Skyfall Lounge in the sister resort at the Delano.

Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay

The Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay is home to over 2,000 aquatic animals.

Luxor

Luxor Hotel and Casino is one of Las Vegas' most recognisable hotels, shaped into a giant pyramid and named after an ancient Egyptian city. I stayed at the Luxor with my family on a trip to Las Vegas in the past.

Titanic Artifact Exhibition at the Luxor

During my stay, I visited the Titanic Artifact Exhibition at the Luxor Hotel. The intriguing exhibition displays more than 250 genuine artifacts salvaged from the RMS Titanic.

King Tutankhamun's Tomb Exhibition at Luxor

The King Tutankhamun's Tomb Exhibition is a small museum which contains an authentic multi-room reproduction of King Tutankhamun's tomb.

MGM Grand

The MGM Grand is the largest single hotel in the world. I stayed at the MGM Grand for 3 nights during my trip to Las Vegas in May 2023. I have also stayed at the MGM Grand with my family on a trip to Las Vegas in the past. The MGM Grand was built 30 years ago using the Wizard of Oz as a theme for the hotel.

Past Holidays to Las Vegas

As a family, we stayed at the MGM Grand on our first visit and the Luxor on our second. We also took a trip to the Hard Rock Cafe and Hoover Dam during one of our visits.

Kà - Cirque du Soleil at MGM Grand

Kà is a show by Cirque du Soleil at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Kà describes the story as "the coming of age of a young man and a young woman through their encounters with love, conflict and the duality of Kà, the fire that can unite or separate, destroy or illuminate. Every trip to Las Vegas should include watching at Cirque du Soleil show.

The Hunger Games: The Exhibition at MGM Grand

The Hunger Games: The Exhibition in Las Vegas is the newest immersive experience based on the blockbuster film franchise.

What I missed out on....

Unfortunately, even 7 nights in Las Vegas was not enough to do all that I had intended to do. Due to being a solo female traveller, safety concerns, limited funds and annual leave does result in limitations on what can be done in the one trip. If I ever get to go to Las Vegas again, I would like to visit Drai's Beach Club and the Giada Restaurant at the Cromwell Hotel, the Fountains of Bellagio and Bellagio Botanical Gardens, Omnia, Death Valley, and Area 51. I would also like to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel which is due to open in 2027.

Giada

Giada's debut restaurant located inside The Cromwell hotel, features upscale Italian cuisine and breathtaking views of the Las Vegas strip.

Fountains of Bellagio

Fountains of Bellagio is a free attraction at the Bellagio resort, located on the Las Vegas Strip.

Bellagio Botanical Gardens

The Bellagio Botanical Gardens are home to impressive displays of vibrant plant life and feature different kinds of exhibits depending on the time of year.

Omnia

Omnia in Caesar's Palace is one of the best nightclubs in Las Vegas.

Death Valley

Death Valley is a desert valley located in Eastern California's Mojave Desert and is the largest national park in the USA. Death Valley is also one of the best places in the world to view the Milky Way, making it a popular attraction to visit when staying in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Area 51

Area 51 is synonymous with tales of UFOs, government cover-ups and potentially testing alien technology.

Hard Rock Hotel

Hard Rock will develop a new integrated resort featuring a nearly 700 ft. guitar-shaped hotel towering prominently in the centre of the famous Las Vegas Strip, looking to open in 2027.
