Anaheim is a city in northern Orange County, California, United States, part of the Greater Los Angeles area. Anaheim is most famous for being the home to Disneyland since its opening in 1955.

I stayed at the Bposhtels in Anaheim for 2 nights in 2023. The Bposhtel was a really good base for any solo travellers wanting to visit Disneyland on a budget.

Mimi's Cafe, Anaheim

The first place I visited on my trip was Mimi's Cafe in Anaheim. Mimi's Cafe is a wonderful little cafe opposite Disneyland. I ordered the buttermilk pancakes with blueberries, strawberries and cream. This was my first taste of American-style pancakes and I knew after one bite that it wouldn't be the last!

Disneyland

Disneyland is a theme park in Anaheim, California. Opened in 1955, it was the first theme park opened by The Walt Disney Company and the only one designed by Walt Disney himself. I spent the first day of both my solo trips to Los Angeles in 2023 and Laguna Beach in 2025 at Disneyland in Anaheim. Disneyland is great fun for all, even for solo travellers like myself. I managed to see the Sleeping Beauty Castle, watch the parade and have a selfie with Princess Tiana. My favourite rides at Disneyland are the Pirates of the Caribbean and Big Thunder Mountain.
